What a marvellous start to the year it’s been! We’ve been super busy here at auctions both in the office and out and the feedback we have had from the March sale has been great. We sold 94% of the lots with 1.87 million pounds of property selling and some very spirited bidding in the room.
We’ve also had a full diary with our charity auctions and have been delighted to conduct and attend a number of them over the Spring period. Close to home I was thrilled to ‘man’ the rostrum for Museum Sheffield ‘Leonardo De Vinci’ fundraising dinner auction. The night raised £51,100 for the charity which will help ensure great art and culture is accessible and free in Sheffield, every day of the week, to everyone. The dinner was attended by many notable artists and sponsors and I even managed to get my photo snapped with the very lovely Joe Scarborough, a fabulous painter and local legend in one! Next stop is South of France for an auction for a wonderful charity supporting those affected by Cancer, better start practising my bidding in French! Oh mon Dieu! Also a polite reminder that we now require any parties wanting to bid in the auction to pre-register. They can either do that direct with Blundells or Bridgford/Frank Innes/Spencers/Bairstow Eves office or on the auction day itself. On auction day you cannot bid on any of the lots unless we have seen all your ID (photo and proof of address), proof of funds and solicitors details, so please take time to ensure you bring everything with you on the 1st and arrive early!! Myself and the Blundells Auction team were delighted with the March results, auctions have totally bucked the trend in comparison to house sales via private treaty having huge appeal to buyer and great seller certainty with a quicker time frame.
