Welcome to 2020, a New Year and a New Decade!

article new decade
The last decade, the 1920s were the Roaring Twenties. The First World War was over, economies were growing and, across Europe and America, people felt free to have fun. Fast forward to now and the last decade which has seen everything from a global financial slump to a golden time of national confidence with the London Olympics and a royal wedding or two - and much of which was all before the word Brexit even existed or anyone had ever heard of Veganuary!

Whether it's been high or lows there is no doubt in the property markets that 2020 has started on a super positive footing, viewing numbers are up, activity has increased, sales are happening all across the UK and some would say that Boris is indeed 'bouncing'.

We start the year with a catalogue packed full of investment options and refurbishment opportunities. We have flats and houses with tenants in situ ready for you to add to your landlord portfolio.  We have a number of development opportunities across the region so whether you want a semi detached on the edge of the Peak District, a Victorian villa on one of Sheffield's most prominent roads, two up two down in Doncaster or a large bungalow in Lincoln – something for all budgets and scales of refurbishment. For those not looking to tackle such big projects then look no further at the extended four bedroom family home in Leicester, it could be the home for you!

For those not bought at auction you do need to do your homework beforehand, so legal packs can now be downloaded online in advance of the sale and if you have any questions at all the Auction Coordinator Steph would love to hear from you so give her a call on 0114 254 1185 or email auctions@countrywide.co.uk  Don’t forget if you can’t attend the auction on auction day and you still want to bid we can arrange telephone and proxy bids for you, head to the website for more information or give us a call to arrange. (We cannot set up telephone bids on the day of the auction, you need to have advised us well in advance so please don’t leave it until the last minute, we do have rules and regulations and being the good law abiding citizens we are we will adhere to them!)

Also a polite reminder that we now require any parties wanting to bid in the auction to pre-register. They can either do that direct with Blundells or Bridgfords/Frank Innes/Spencers/Dixons/Bairstow Eves office before the date of the auction or on the auction day itself. On auction day you will not be allowed to bid on any of the lots unless we have seen all your ID (photo and proof of address),  proof of funds and solicitors details, so please take time to ensure you bring everything with you on the 5th and arrive early to be sure you register in time!! Doors open at 11am.

For those thinking of selling in 2020 if you have a property, land or an investment to sell and require an appraisal as to its suitability to be sold at auction please me know. I can offer a fantastic alternative to an open market listing and a realistic valuation with a fast pace route to exchange. We also have the Blundells lettings team at the auction room every sale so if you need any lettings advice or ‘Buy to Let’ info these are the guys and girls to ask. We are already taking instructions for our second sale of 2020 in May so if you have a property to sell and require an appraisal as to its suitability to be sold at auction please let us know.

Looking forward to seeing you in the room from the rostrum on the 5th March!
